MARTIN HANNEMAN

Martin is an experienced security professional who draws upon a diverse background in military security operations, law enforcement, and the emergency services. Formally a military pilot, Martin has served in multiple theatres throughout the world, primarily with the UK Commando Forces. These missions included peacekeeping, anti-terrorism and law enforcement security roles. He is a qualified in both helicopters and jet fighter aircraft. He served as an Electronic Warfare Instructor, and worked as a training officer to Special Operations Command.
After leaving the military, Martin worked in emergency services gaining critical experience in multi-agency emergency response operations and disaster relief – including evacuation missions during Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Returning to California, Martin became a successful business program manager in the defense industry. Customer focused, he utilized his project management and team leadership skills to regularly exceed strategic financial goals and customer expectations on large, high dollar defense projects.
Martin’s primary specialty is carrying out vulnerability and risk assessments for organizations and facilities. He has been responsible for carrying out security assessments on many facilities throughout Orange County, including churches, schools, Government facilities, factories and corporate offices, and he currently leads a county wide law enforcement project for improving school security. Key areas of expertise are in implementing protective security, training, and mitigation techniques against active shooter and terrorism threats. Additionally, Martin has extensive experience in risk management and operational security planning and delivery for major events.
Martin is based in Southern California, where he lives with his wife and two young children. As well as security consulting, he is a sworn reserve law enforcement officer, holds a US Government security clearance, and works with a Homeland Security Fusion Center in their Critical Infrastructure Protection program. A graduate of the Australian National University and Britannia Royal Naval College, he also specializes in the growing field of cyber-security, and is currently completing his master’s degree in computer information systems security at Boston University.
